A new “Start” for Greater Manchester as Andy Burnham becomes Prime Minister

It’s been a busy few weeks for Greater Manchester. Andy Burnham's appointment as Prime Minister marks a significant moment for the city region, while we’re also welcoming Bev Craig as our new Greater Manchester Mayor. Manchester (and Manchesterism) is dominating legacy media and social channels - exciting times for the city Start calls home.

We’ve been reflecting on the strong relationships we've built across Greater Manchester, supporting businesses, charities and public sector partners at some of the region's biggest events, campaigns and initiatives. Many of those saw Andy Burnham at the heart of the conversation. From mayoral launches and business briefings to charity events, panel discussions to DJ battles, our team has worked behind the scenes to help deliver communications that bring people together and shine a light on the issues that matter most to our region.

One cause particularly close to our hearts has been our work supporting Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity. Andy Burnham has long championed the ambition to end homelessness, and hearing his first commitment outside Number 10 focus on ending rough sleeping across the country reinforces the importance of that mission. We’re looking forward to supporting Bev Craig as they take the baton for GMMC to end homelessness.

As a Greater Manchester agency, we're proud to continue supporting businesses that make a difference in our communities, helping them to grow in Greater Manchester and beyond. We look forward to working with partners across the city region, including the incoming Mayor of Greater Manchester, as the next chapter begins.
